coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving years in 2001 and 2002…had a

that put the Steelers in field-goal range. 10/5 vs. Cleveland: Had his lowest
production totals of the season…caught just one pass for 19 yards. 10/12 at
Denver: Caught five passes for 60 yards, including a team-long 23 yarder. 10/26
vs. St. Louis: Had one reception for six yards. 11/2 at Seattle: Became only the
13th player in Steelers history to record 200 career receptions…caught five
passes for 75 yards, including a long of 37 yards, his longest reception Sept.
28 Tennessee game. 11/9 vs. Arizona: Struggled most of the day…was called for an
interference penalty that nullified one of his catches and dropped another
potential TD pass…finished with just one reception for six yards. 11/17 at San
Francisco: Had one of his most productive day in recent weeks…led the team with
six receptions for 92 yards, including a long of 24. 11/23 at Cleveland: Tied
Dan Krieder for team honors with two receptions for 16 yards. 11/30 vs.
Cincinnati: Had his most productive game in more than a month and recorded his
third 100-yard performance of the season…finished with a season-high eight
catches for 112 yards, including a long of 22 yards. 12/7 vs. Oakland: Caught
just his second TD reception of the season on a Tommy Maddox pass in the second
quarter…finished with three receptions for 38 yards. 12/14 at N.Y. Jets: Had two
receptions for 22 yards, including a long of 17. 12/21 vs. San Diego: Produced
his first multiple touchdown game in more than a year…finished with three

2002: 9/9 at New England: Was held to just one reception
for 11 yards. 9/15 vs. Oakland: Caught one pass for 10 yards…committed a
turnover late in the game when he fumbled after a reception as the Steelers were
marching for a score. 9/29 vs. Cleveland: Had his most productive day of the
early season…finished with seven catches for 84 yards (12.0 average) and one TD.
10/6 at New Orleans: Finished with four receptions for 59 yards and a
team-leading 14.8 yards a catch…scored his second TD—and second in as many
games—of the season. 10/13 at Cincinnati: Had his best game of the season…tied a
career-high with a career-high eight receptions for 149 yards, his third-most
receiving yards in a game…average an impressive 18.6 yards a reception,
including a 36-yarder on the second play of the game. 10/21 vs. Indianapolis:
Led the team with six receptions for 79 yards, including a long of 18. 10/27 at
Baltimore: Was off to a fast start scoring two TDs in the first half, only the
second time in his career he had multiple touchdowns…was ejected for his
involvement in a scuffle with Ravens cornerback James Trapp…finished with five
receptions for 55 yards and two TDs. 11/3 at Cleveland: Finished with four
catches for 69 yards and a team-leading 17.3 yards a catch. 11/10 vs. Atlanta:
Had a monstrous, record-setting day…finished with nine receptions for a
team-record 253 yards and two TDs…had four receptions of more than 30 yards,
including a 62-yard TD and a 50-yard catch off a Hail Mary pass that fell
one-yard short of the game-winning TD in overtime. 11/17 at Tennessee: Finished
with four receptions for 41 yards, a 10.3 average. 11/24 vs. Cincinnati: Had
four receptions for 38 yards for a 9.5-yard average. 12/1 at Jacksonville:
Started the Steelers offense off to fast start with his 54-yard catch-and-run on
the second play of the game…finished with five receptions for 95 yards, a
19-yard average. 12/8 vs. Houston: Had one of his toughest days, dropping
several passes…still caught six passes for 83 yards, including a long of 19
yards…surpassed a 1,000 yards receiving for the second straight year and
eclipsed his career-high for receiving yards in the season. 12/15 vs. Carolina:
Rebounded from his tough day the previous week with six receptions for a
team-high 120 yards and one TD…averaged 20 yards a catch, including a long of 47
on which he made a great adjustment to come back to the ball for the catch…also
made a TD-saving tackle 64 yards down the field on a interception that resulted
after he slipped…set a new single-season high for receptions (66 was his
previous high) on his third catch…also set a new mark for TD receptions in a
season with his seventh, surpassing his total of six set last year. 12/23 at
Tampa Bay: Started off the game strongly on the receiving end of a 41-yard pass
from Tommy Maddox…finished with five receptions for 127 yards, his fourth—second
straight—100-yard receiving performance of the season. . 12/29 vs. Baltimore:
Led the team with 52 receiving yards on three receptions for a 17.3-yard
average. 1/5 vs. Cleveland: Joined Hines Ward to become the Steelers first
receiving tandem to compile 100 or more receiving yards since Jan. 21, 1979 when
John Stallworth and Lynn Swann achieved that in Super Bowl XIII …finished with
100 yards on six catches and one TD. 1/11 at Tennessee: Overcame an extremely
sore hip from a fall in the first half to finished the game…had two receptions
for 62 yards, including a long of 40…led the team in the postseason with a 20.3

Jacksonville: Caught two passes for 24 yards, including a 19-yarder…missed most
of the second half with a right shoulder injury. . 9/30 at Buffalo: Caught two
passes for 19 yards but had one drop on what could have been a big gainer. 10/7
vs. Cincinnati: caught three passes for 37 yards, a 12.3-yard average…had a long
of 17 yards. 10/14 at Kansas City: Had another three-catch performance…but
performance was tarnished by a drop pass and two holding penalties…finished with
three receptions for a team-high 39 yards. 10/21 at Tampa Bay: Tied Hines Ward
for team honors with three receptions for 26 yards. 10/29 vs. Tennessee: Had by
far the biggest game of his young career…finished with career highs of six
receptions for 151 yards for a 25.2-yard average…had two receptions for more
than 30 yards, including a nifty one on which he turned defender and knocked an
under-thrown ball out of a Tennessee's defenders grasp, which deflected into the
air and then grabbed by Burress. 11/4 vs. Baltimore: Had another solid day
highlighted by his first TD as a pro…finished with four catches for 56 yards,
including his 21-yard TD reception from Kordell Stewart. 11/11 at Cleveland:
Caught for passes for 44 yards, including a long of 18…missed an opportunity for
his second TD catch when he dropped a strike from Kordell Stewart in the end
